PureStem™ 7PEND24, NCr-fac & Meso-prx Progenitor

This clonal human embryonic progenitor line expresses markers specific to chondrogenic progenitors (PAX9, COL6A1, COL1A1), and neural crest-derived mesenchymal cells (BARX1, LHX8, SNAI2, TWIST1, FOXF1). The cell line exhibits chondrogenic fate upon differentiation in vitro.

Progenitor line 7PEND24 was derived from the parental NIH registered Human ES cell line H9 (WA09) (West, M.D. et al, 2008) 2.

Experimental Data

  • PureStem 7PEND24 was characterized by MicroArray analysis and compared to bone marrow-derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells - see heat map below.
  • PureStem 7PEND24 was induced to differentiate in vitro into functional chondrocytes.1
  • PureStem 7PEND24 effectively repaired articular chondrocytes in the rat model - see below.1

Chondrogenic differentiation protocol is detailed in respective differentiation kits' datasheet (purestem chondrogenic differentiation kit em 2001).

Propagation Potential:

Progenitor line 7PEND24 is sold at passage 10 (passage 1: original clonal isolate at confluence in 1.9 cm2 well), which corresponds to approximately 13.5 doublings since the first passage and approximately 30 doublings since its original clonal plating. The line displays a finite lifespan in vitro, and when properly maintained will reach at least 10 population doublings.

Quality Control:

The line is negative for HIV (1, 2), HBV, HCV, bacteria, mycoplasma, and fungal contamination. Certificates of analysis are available on request.
